Formerly the ropes from the mast were sustained for a few strips of leather, but in time adapted wooden pegs. On the division of the frets were not only marks for some shades.

It runs using a hardwood plectrum, playing a string or 3 simultaneously, the left hand is the mark tones by pressing the strings on the frets of a string at a time.

The tuning of these three strings is, the more serious in tone, the second in the fifth or fourth, and the rope more acute in the eighth. eg C3,G4,C5. or F, C, F.

Usually executed in africa to sing or tell stories while executing them.
